Handyman and repair work across Eagle-Vail’s 1,400+ homes
Eagle-Vail is almost entirely residential: houses, duplexes and townhomes, more than 1,400 of them, shared between people who live here all year and owners who visit. That mix sets the rhythm of the work. Full-time households want the punch list handled around jobs and school. Owners who are away want someone dependable to fix what broke and send photos so they can see it done.
Typical Eagle-Vail requests:
- Drywall patches, rubbing doors, loose stair rails and worn trim
- Rotted siding, fascia and exterior trim on the sunny side of the house
- New faucets, vanities, lights and hardware between larger projects
- Getting a home ready for a sale, a new tenant or a long winter away
Our handyman services cover the short visits, and home repair covers fixes that need more than an afternoon. Eagle-Vail sits between Vail and Avon, in the middle of our service area, so a small job here is easy to slot into the week.
Kitchen and bathroom remodeling for Eagle-Vail homeowners
In older Eagle-Vail homes, kitchens and baths usually show their age first. Kitchen remodeling here often means opening a closed kitchen to the living room, adding real pantry space and replacing worn cabinets and counters. Bathroom remodeling runs from a tub-to-shower conversion up to a full tear-out to the studs. If your family stays in the house during the work, we seal off the work zone, cover floors along the path in and out, and keep one bathroom running wherever the layout allows.
Staging is simpler here than in a Vail Village condo. Many homes have a driveway or garage, so materials can sit near the work and there is no loading dock to reserve.
Decks in Eagle-Vail: snow load and frost depth
Decks take a beating at 7,602 feet. Sun dries out the boards, snow sits on them for months and freeze-thaw cycles loosen posts and stairs. Because the neighborhood is outside any town, deck work answers to the Eagle County Building Division. The county sets design snow loads for roofs and decks from Colorado’s 2016 snow load maps, and it uses a 48-inch frost depth for footings unless a geotechnical report calls for something else. Our deck builder page covers resurfacing, railings, stairs and full rebuilds.
Eagle-Vail Metro District, POA and your project
Two bodies manage the community: the Eagle-Vail Metro District and the Eagle-Vail Property Owners Association. Before exterior work, an addition or anything that touches shared ground, Edgar checks whether either one needs to see the plans and folds any review time into the schedule. That way a deck or siding job does not stall halfway through while paperwork catches up.
I-70 and U.S. 6 both run through the middle of Eagle-Vail along the Eagle River, so homes on either side are a quick reach for us whichever exit we use.
Who issues building permits in Eagle-Vail?
The Eagle County Building Division does, because Eagle-Vail is not part of any town. The county asks for a permit when someone plans to build, enlarge, alter, repair, move or demolish a structure. It also says ordinary maintenance usually needs no permit, while roof replacements do need one. Edgar works out which side of that line your job falls on, then handles the application, inspections and the inspector’s visits. The full list of what we do is on our services page, and we also cover the towns on either side, Vail and Avon.
